A study by UT Southwestern’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in collaboration with Parkland Health, found that postpartum patients with medical comorbidities tend to have more health-related social needs (HRSNs) than those without. The study focused on identifying HRSNs in an underserved urban population. The study hypothesized that patients with medical comorbidities would have higher rates of these needs.
