Chapters Transcript Video Driven for Excellence: Our Gynecologic Oncology Experts Hear why the gynecologic oncology experts in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology chose to work at UT Southwestern. Practicing at UT Southwester is practicing at the pinnacle of academic medicine. We have incredibly gifted and talented subspecialists. We have researchers, clinical trialists and we are able to all come together and collaborate on what we each excel in. We collaborate with patients, primary care doctors, other subspecialists. There's a definite push towards advancing the quality of cancer care for all of our patients by improving access to both standard of care as well as leading edge advances. We're all driven for excellence. We really want the best patient outcomes and we work together to make sure that that happens. And I think that collaboration with my peers in the other centers have made for a very robust surgical approach to taking care of patients. I get to come to work with a lot of very smart people, a lot of very dedicated people that inspire me to do a better job. And so it makes every day fun to work here. Ut Southwester is the premier medical education institution in the state. The care that goes on an institution like this because of the interaction between the faculty and the residents and fellows is without question superior. This is a place where they're leading patient care. There is a lot to offer to trainees here in regards to volume pathology and just excellent surgical training as well as medical management, particularly in cancer care. I chose to come to UC Southwester because of the opportunity to train the next generation. It's incredibly important to me that I am bringing up the next generation to be excellent. One of the great things about UT Southwester is the Glock Fellowship Program. So we're actually training the next generation of my specialty to take care of patients. We also work closely with residents in the OBGYN program. Ut Southwester has the largest OBGYN residency program in the country. It allows me as a surgeon as an educator to really impact the next generations of surgeons and clinicians so that every patient who presents with a gyn malignancy can get high quality care. We're very interested in the success of our trainees. We look forward to basking in their reflected glory from when they go out and succeed and make a difference in gynecologic oncology. I am incredibly fortunate to be able to be in a place where I am so supported as a clinician and as a teacher, this is a very inclusive collaborative culture. And I just really love being at this institution and practicing among some of the best in the field. Created by
