This paper is a case report telling the story of a patient misdiagnosed with a psychiatric illness resulting in a delayed cancer diagnosis. We highlight the socioeconomic and systemic barriers as well as treatment biases that contributed and offer recommendations for psychiatrist to serve as advocates for their patients.
