Namirah Jamshed, MD

Associate Professor, Department of Internal Medicine

Namirah Jamshed, MD

Namirah Jamshed, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A specialist in geriatric medicine and dementia, she serves as Medical Director of the UTSW Care of the Vulnerable Elderly (COVE) Home-Based Primary Care Program.

Dr. Jamshed earned her medical degree at the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed a residency in family medicine at the LaTrobe Area Hospital in Pennsylvania and received advanced training in geriatrics through a fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015.

Dr. Jamshed’s academic interests include population health, health policy, and teaching. She is a member of the American Academy of Home Care Medicine, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
