UT Southwestern researchers from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Radiology, and College of Medicine conducted the largest CTA-based study to date examining the corona mortis (CM), identifying arterial CM and notable demographic variability in nearly one-third of patients. The findings highlight the importance of systematic preoperative CTA evaluation to help reduce the risk of vascular injury during pelvic and acetabular surgery.
